Preconception Care and Fertility
"This may be your first step into trying for a family or you may have been on this path for sometime, whichever way I know, like the 100's of clients I have worked with, you are wanting to make sure that no stone has been left unturned in planning for pregnancy & optimising your fertility.
The evidence and interest in preconception and fertility nutrition is growing, and I'm all about not just getting that highly desirable big fat positive (pregnancy test), but also laying down the foundations for a healthy pregnancy & unleashing the power of epigenetic programming so that your healthy baby becomes a healthy adult. And before you say, "well, aren't 50% of pregnancies unplanned?" (you're right they are), we're not exactly making for a healthy general population are we?
Optimising chances of conception starts long before trying to conceive (a minimum of 3-6 months to be exact). In an age where fertility rates are declining, a comprehensive approach is so important for both female & male reproductive health. Preconception nutrition is vital for reproductive health, influencing egg & sperm quality while creating a supportive environment for embryo implantation, whether you are trying to conceive naturally or with assisted reproductive techniques such as IVF.
I will work with you to enhance your reproductive health & fertility through practical nutrition & lifestyle strategies, comprehensive blood work analysis & targeted supplement plans, all tailored to meet your unique health needs."

Pregnancy and Maternal Health (including Gestational diabetes)
"Your pregnancy is unique with optimal nutrition playing a key role in ensuring maternal & foetal health. Evidence-based nutrition will support your baby's development, reduce the risk of complications like preeclampsia & preterm birth, & help manage the common pregnancy challenges you may experience, such as morning sickness & fatigue.
Proper nutritional strategies also lessen risks for gestational diabetes (GDM), supporting blood glucose (sugar) control to protect both yourself & your growing baby, & reducing your risk of developing GDM in subsequent pregnancies or going on to develop type 2 diabetes yourself. I've closely worked with women supporting both their nutritional & medication management of their pregnancy with diabetes (whether it is GDM or pregnancy with pre-existing Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes) for over two and a half decades. The end result? A closely supported pregnancy, optimising blood glucose levels & nutrition to support a healthy pregnancy & baby, with time to actually enjoy your pregnancy.
Tailored dietary advice, lifestyle adjustments & targeted supplementation provide the foundation for a healthy pregnancy, promoting well-being throughout each trimester (I will work with you to adapt your plan with your changing needs as the pregnancy progresses)."

Postpartum Care
"The postpartum period, often called the "fourth trimester", is just as important as pregnancy when it comes to taking care of your health. It's a time of recovery, renewal & adjusting to the demands of caring for your little one. Your body is healing, your energy levels are fluctuating, & your nutrient stores need to be replenished after childbirth.
This is a special time, which can also be challenging as you adjust to your new addition, change in routine & lack of sleep, and as I know as a mum myself, prioritising yourself can be difficult. No guilt laden messaging here about what you should be doing in this time: the main priority is finding a rhythm that works for you & reaching out for help & support when you need it. For the hundreds of women I've worked with, postpartum support has been essential to restoring balance & ensuring long-term well-being.
Optimising your nutrition through diet and where/ if needed supplements can help you recover more quickly, support lactation, manage postpartum mood changes & restore energy. For women who’ve had gestational diabetes, postpartum nutrition also focuses on stabilising blood glucose (sugar) levels & reducing the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes in the future. With a personalised approach, you’ll be empowered to navigate this transformative time with confidence & care for both yourself and your baby."

Women's Reproductive Health
"Nutrition and lifestyle are crucial for managing women's reproductive health conditions due to their significant impact on hormonal balance, inflammation & overall wellbeing. Conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids & hypothalamic amenorrhea have historically been neglected in the research space, however the good news is times are changing!
The growing body of evidence & awareness in this area means I am supporting more & more women regulating their menstrual cycles, re-establishing ovulation, managing symptoms including pain & heavy menstrual bleeding before they're wanting to start having a family, leading to reduced overall symptoms, improved quality of life & mental wellbeing, and getting them in the right place to start trying when they are finally ready for a family, if they want one.
Each presentation of PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids & hypothalamic amenorrhoea has its own unique presentation, which requires an individualised plan. Often I see women without a diagnosis, it may be that you have symptoms that you are finding problematic, or another condition that has been masking or blamed for these symptoms. Together we will work at piecing your reproductive health puzzle together & managing your symptoms through some joint detective work which will inform a workable, individualised plan for you."

PERIMENOPAUSE & MENOPAUSE
"During perimenopause and menopause, hormonal fluctuations can lead to a range of symptoms, including hot flashes, mood changes, weight gain & bone density loss.
Evidence shows that targeted nutrition can play a significant role in alleviating these symptoms & supporting long-term health.
By focusing on personalised nutrition solutions & lifestyle adjustments, it’s possible to reduce discomfort, improve energy levels whilst promote healthy ageing.
This once unspoken phase of a woman's life has now been catapulted into the spotlight, & rightly so, drawing much-needed attention to the challenges many women face during this life stage. However, with this attention comes a flood of misinformation, marketing gimmicks & non-evidence-based products that can prey on vulnerabilities when seeking relief.
I'm here to cut through the noise & find evidence based nutrition & lifestyle solutions that genuinely work for you, supporting your health through this transition. Many supplements are marketed with lofty promises, only those rooted in solid research have been shown to effectively address the specific symptoms and challenges of menopause.
Tailored advice can make a significant difference, helping you to navigate the complexities of perimenopause & menopause with confidence and ease. Through targeted nutritional strategies, it becomes possible to optimise well-being during these life stages and beyond."

PRE-DIABETES, TYPE 1 & TYPE 2 DIABETES
"Diabetes presents a range of challenges, but with the right support, managing your health is achievable. As a specialist in diabetes management, I help clients understand their unique needs, empowering them to prevent Type 2 diabetes or effectively manage Type 1 & Type 2 through personalised nutrition & lifestyle strategies.
Carbohydrate counting/ awareness & weight management focal in many people's lives living with diabetes & with my expertise, you can navigate dietary changes alongside optimising diabetes technologies (glucose sensros, insulin pumps, hybrid closed loop systems (HCLs)) to work with your lifestyle & health goals. Providing the well-needed headspace you need & supporting your emotional health and quality of life in the process.
Nutrition & lifestyle choices are cornerstone to preventing or delaying the onset of Type 2, and managing both Type 2 & Type 1 diabetes long-term. Recent research highlights the potential for weight loss to reverse pre-diabetes & achieve remission in Type 2 diabetes, whether you opt for a more restrictive approach such as a VLCD or a different approach, your weight, nutrition & lifestyle goals can be reached though tailored strategies that are safe & meet your individual needs.
Having specialised in diabetes management for over two decades at a leading diabetes NHS Trust, I am adept with the progression of diabetes care & specifically diabetes technologies that are advancing care, particularly for people living with Type 1 diabetes. Insulin pumps, then continuous & flash glucose monitoring, & now hybrid closed loop systems, have accelerrated the flexibility & possibilities for people living with Type 1. Optimising carbohydrate counting, fat & protein awareness with insulin management via injections or diabetes technologies can achieve blood glucose levels in near normal ranges most of the time, supporting overall long-term health & providing a higher quality of life.
I have particular interest in optimising exercise & blood glucose, preconception planning, pregnancy/ maternal health & postpartum management in people living with Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes. My tailored approach address will address your specific health goals. Together, we can create a sustainable plan that enhances your quality of life while effectively managing your diabetes."
